THE SHERWOOD BLIZZARD has been a standard for divers in cold waters for the last 30 years. It has been the “go to” regulator for many Public Safety Dive Teams around the country because of its reliability in the colder waters and for its ease of service. In the summer of 2016 SHERWOOD introduced the new BLIZZARD PRO. The new unit has proven to be as reliable in all environments. With a completely new Valve Design, the new Blizzard Pro comes with improved breathing performance and enhanced cosmetics.
1st stage: The T-shaped design reduces regulator profile when mounted on tank minnimizing opportunity to make contact with the back of the head.
To keep the internal parts of the BLIZZARD PRO free from dirt, that can cause it to malfunction, it is completely environmentally sealed. The piston/spring chamber is surrounded by a membrane. This membrane doesn't move the piston like a diaphragm design 1st stage would, it's purpose is solely to seal the chamber without using sticky grease or oils while allowing the air pressure inside the chamber to adjust according to the ambient pressure, thus adjusting spring tension and creating a balanced 1st stage. A pneumatically balanced regulator ensures you get the same amount of air delivered whether you are at 3,000 psi or 500 psi thus improving the diving experience.
Our personal note: all SHERWOOD regulators except the SR2 have the same 1st stage.
2nd stage: The BLIZZARD PRO features a Dual Vane System for moisture retention. The lower vane is solid while the top vane has 5 moisture capturing vents. The moisture is captured between the two vanes and upon inhalation the moisture returns to your mouth.
The injection molded thermoplastic rubber seat is harder than silicone seats and maintains its shape and does not coin as deeply.
An anodised aluminium heat sink helps to prevent freezing. A large co-molded mouthpiece uses two different silicone compounds and colors to reduce jaw fatigue.
Average work of breathing less than 1.28 J/L (@ RMV = 62.5 l/min, depth = 50 m, service pressure = 50 bar)
Designed for cold water diving and Nitroxready up to 40%
All SHERWOOD SCUBA 1st and 2nd stages are covered by a 2 years limited manufacturer's warranty and participate in the "parts for lifetime" program. Restrictions apply (valid for original owner and at regular service intervals)!
In partnership with Atomic Aquatics, ZEAGLE engineered over 20 different improvements on everything from inner mechanisms and materials to exterior controls and aesthetics. The F8 breathes better, works harder and lasts longer than any other regulator they’ve ever made.
1st stage: The F8 1st stage has a dry-sealed spring chamber (to stop freezing at water temperatures below 40 degrees F). All delicate parts of the 1st stage including the main spring are sealed behind the clear hydrostatic diaphragm away from the effects of salt or other contaminants in the water, making it environmentally sealed. It is very low in profile, barely extending above the tank valve, and places the low pressure hoses directly out to the sides, in a pattern preferred by many divers.
New Neoflon seat: The conical precision high-pressure valve provides much greater reliability and service life compared to conventional designs, while improving responsiveness and performance at all breathing rates.
Work of breathing at heavy* demand: 0.72 Joule/Liter *198 (60M) depth, 750 psi inlet, 62.5 RMV (liters per minute respiratory volume)
Like all Zeagle regulators, The Flathead-8 comes factory ready for use with EAN/ NITROX to 40% O2.
2nd stage: A new inhalation diaphragm provides superior tear strength and improved response time to breathing (super soft silicone molded over a low friction disk). The improved exhaust valve ensures dryness and a lower exhalation effort.
Another revolutionary difference to most regulators is the seat-saving orifice. It is not screwed into its base, it can move. The sharp edge of the orifice is the part that is sealing against the teflon seat of the 2nd stage when you are not inhaling to stop the airflow. In common systems, when the reg is not used, these 2 parts are resting against each other, meaning the sharp edge of the orifice is cutting into the seat.
With the F8 these 2 parts don't rest on each other and the seat doesn't get used while in storage. Only when you turn on the tank (put air in the system) the flow of air will push the orifice against the seat, creating the seal.
The seat is made of soft silicone molded over a metal insert to deliver the firmness required for an airtight seal while maintaining the necessary elasticity to prevent leaking.
Redesigned front cover and inhalation effort control knob use co-molded components that provide the necessary grip, soft touch and ease of use.
The redesigned heat sink dramatically increases surface area thus aiding in the heat exchange necessary to avoid freeze-up. In addition the heat sink and inlet tube are zirconium-plated for superior corrosion resistance.
Several color kits are available for the F8 2nd stage to perfectly match your gear or mark different gasses.

The MAGNUM PRO is now a pneumatically balanced 2nd stage regulator. It uses the same technology and design that has earned the BRUT worldwide recognition for durability and reliability, bur the MAGNUM PRO goes a step further with an added Venturi device to reduce breathing resistance at the higher flow rates when it is needed the most. A flow control switch allows the diver to switch the Venturi effect off while at the surface or in shallow water to stabilize the regulator for better manageability.
