Maintenance service

We do not only sell you gear, we also take care of it when it's time for maintenance. We offer annual regulator maintenance as well as BCD maintenance and we have partnered up with OCEAN FABRIK to offer you top quality neoprene and drysuit repairs.

REGULATORS & BCDs

How does it work?

1) Call us for an RA number. This is also the time to let us know any special instructions like: "I want to convert my DIN regulator to YOKE", "I dive a lot in currents and need my 2nd stage adjusted accordingly", "I would like to install a different inflator mechanism on my BCD",...

2) Put the corresponding maintenance option in the shopping cart, add a rush service or oxygen cleaning if you wish and follow through check out. You will be charged shipping cost at this point. This is the cost for shipping the package back to you once the service is done.

3) Ship the regulator with the RA # clearly visible on the outside AND on a tag on the gear itself to the following address:

Please allow 2-3 weeks for regular service, 4 business days for rush service. Once the maintenance is finished we will contact you, you pay for the service kit or spare parts we have used on your gear and we ship your gear back with the shipping method you had chosen at check out.

PLEASE NOTE: service kit and parts are NOT included in the maintenance price.

Service kits / spare parts: most of the time only a standart service kit is needed for the maintenance of a regulator. (Unless something is broken, BCDs don't need extra service kits, the required o-rings are included in the maintenance price.) We can let you know the cost of the required kit when you call for the RA #. But as we have not seen your regulator we can't guarantee that there are no further parts that need replacement. 

Regulator condition: we accept all regulators that are in normal, used condition. If you have been rinsing your regulator after dives and do your service on a fairly regular basis, all should be fine. If your regulator was dragged through the sand constantly, never rinsed and then stored in your garage for 5 years please be aware that additional charges may apply if our technician needs considerably more time than average for the service.

We are NOT seeking to charge you any unforeseen cost, but we have had regulators that needed hours of brushing and being worked on in the ultrasonic bath to be able to even open the regulator or clean corrosion. We feel it unfair if these very rare exceptions would increase service prices for everybody.

Regulator - what's included:

  • We open and clean your regulator, internally and externally, with a special cleaning solution and ultrasonic bath
  • We replace parts that are recommended to be replaced by the manufacturer
  • We verify if any parts are broken and replace them if needed
  • We assemble and fine-adjust first and second stage
  • If you have a pressure gauge attached we will check and lubrify its o-rings
  • We use O2 safe crystal lube on all regulators
  • If you have chosen "O2-cleaning service" all internal and external parts will undergo the appropriate cleaning process and the necessary o-rings will be replaced with oxygen-safe Viton o-rings.
  • Service kits and parts are not included

Oxygen cleaning:

This option can be purchased together with a regulator service.

  • All internal and external parts will undergo the appropriate cleaning process
  • The necessary o-rings will be replaced with oxygen-safe Viton o-rings.
  • We use O2 safe crystal lube on all regulators
  • Parts and o-rings are not included

BCD - what's included:

  • We do a leak test
  • We remove all valves and do a thorough internal cleaning and disinfection
  • We clean all valves
  • We open your power inflator, clean all internal parts, change moving o-rings and lubrify the mechanism
  • If you have an octopus-inflator combination we give regulator service to this 2nd stage
  • We re-assamble and test the BCD
  • Replacement o-rings for power inflator are included in the service but not 2nd stage kits or any other parts that might be broken.

NEOPRENE & DRYSUITS

Suit repair is done by OCEAN FABRIK and charged by hour so you pay only the time it takes to finish your repair. Please call us for a consultation. Let us know the model of your suit and what kind of repair is needed. In most cases we can give a rough estimate of the time needed. 

Our technicians have a long experience with repairs. We don't just use Aqua Seal to patch up your suit! Be assured that we use the appropriate glue for each material. For a durable repair we work with glues that stay flexible even once they are completely dry which is important so your suit doesn't create a new hole next to the repaired area.

Drysuit leak-test & evaluation

Either you want to buy a used drysuit or want to know if it is still worth to repair your old suit: we offer professional evaluation and leak testing of drysuits. Leak-testing might also be required for certain repairs.

After testing we can tell you exactly where the suit is leaking and if it's worth to repair it. The test can even detect holes that might not let water in yet but are likely to become a problem in the close future. We check and evaluate the state of the zipper, wrist and neck seals, boots/socks, seams, valves and the overall condition of the suit material.
