- With the ONYX ARL mask, we have taken one of our best selling masks in the Onyx and upgraded the lenses with an Anti Reflective coating. These Anti Reflective Lenses (ARL) start as SHERWOOD Crystal Clear lenses and are treated with the Anti Reflective coating. This process of coating the lenses reduces the amount of light that is reflected by the Crystal Clear lenses. This permits additional light to pass through the lenses to the diver’s eyes. The additional light translates into improved contrast and optical clarity. Typical tempered lenses allow 92% of the light to pass through. Crystal Clear lenses allow 95% of the light to pass through. ARL lenses allow 98% of the light to pass through to the diver’s eyes.
The ONYX ARL mask is perfect for spearfishing, freediving, or scuba diving. The extremely low profile provides a tremendous field of view and is easy to purge. -

ATOMIC SUBFRAME medium fit

- The ATOMIC AQUATICS SUBFRAME mask is so durable, it carries a Lifetime warranty against frame breakage. The strength comes from the internal frame (subframe) molded directly beneath the surface of the silicone rubber skirt (patent pending). This subframe provides incredible strength and rigidity as well as eliminating the bulky external plastic frame in other masks. A stainless steel retainer locks the lenses in place and provides added strength to the nose bridge area of the mask. A wide field of view and great fit completes the combination of function, style and durability.
The SUBFRAME masks are available in standard and medium fit. The medium fit mask has a skirt designed for narrow faces.
The SUBFRAME features UltraClear lenses. Now what is that? Did you ever notice that normal dive mask lenses have a green tint to the glass? This is the result of iron impurities left over in lower quality “float” or window type glass. That green tint distorts true colors and blocks out some of the light that reaches the eye. UltraClear is a new and exciting optical quality glass with exceptional clarity and high light transmission, with no color distortion for improved visual acuity, especially underwater in low light conditions.
A wide selection of optical lenses is available, ranging from -1.0 to -8.0 in .5 diopter increments. They need to be ordered separately. Our personal note: the DUO black is a robust mask placed at the lower end of the price scale. The main differences to a higher end mask are the quality of the silicone and the field of vision. Expect the silicone to be a bit more stiff and not to provide the same comfort on extended dives. The frame is relatively big thus has a smaller field of vision compared to an expensively engineered mask design. -
