With the new SR2 SHERWOOD has upped the game – the SR2 competes easily with the top brand regs in terms of breathing effort. The SHERWOOD SR2 regulator packs advanced technology into a compact, very light case, utilizing a multitude of cutting edge materials.
With a work of breathing of less than 0.65 J/L (@ RMV = 62.5 l/min, depth = 50 m, service pressure = 50 bar), the SR2 delivers superior breathing performance.
1st stage: The SR2 features a two-piece piston design for easy maintenance and long life. The piston flow-through diameter is bigger than in most regular designs so more volume can flow through for easy breathing thus delievering superior breathing performance of less than 0.65 joules/liter, W.O.B. at 165 fsw, 62.5 RMV.
The SR2 is truly pneumatically-balanced: this means that air isn't just able to flow from one side of the chamber to the other through a hole. The SR2 has a mechanism that is pushing the air through. To keep the internal parts of the reg free from dirt, that can cause it to malfunction, it is completely environmentally sealed. The piston/spring chamber is surrounded by a membrane. This membrane doesn't move the piston like a diaphragm design 1st stage would, it's purpose is solely to seal the chamber without using sticky grease or oils while allowing the air pressure inside the chamber to adjust according to the ambient pressure, thus adjusting spring tension and creating a balanced 1st stage. A pneumatically balanced regulator ensures you get the same amount of air delivered whether you are at 3,000 psi or 500 psi thus improving the diving experience.
The 5 low pressure ports on a swivelling turret head give you lots of room for optimal hose routing.
2nd stage: The SR2 2nd stage is featuring a one-touch performance adjustment: both, Inhalation effort and venturi system (dive/pre-dive mode), can be controlled with one move of the hand.
Another revolutionary difference to most regulators is the SMART Demand Lever - the orifice is not screwed into its base, it can move. The sharp edge of the orifice is the part that is sealing against the teflon seat of the 2nd stage when you are not inhaling to stop the airflow. In common systems, when the reg is not used, these 2 parts are resting against each other, meaning the sharp edge of the orifice is cutting into the seat. With the SR2 these 2 parts don't rest on each other and the seat doesn't get used while in storage. Only when you turn on the tank (put air in the system) the flow of air will push the orifice against the seat, creating the seal.

This is a good entry-level reg for medium to warm water temperatures. It is a proven and reliable reg system, easy to maintain, easy to use and easy on the budget.
1st stage: The MK2 EVO is a downstream piston-style first stage. It comes with SCUBAPRO's patented Extended Thermal Insulating System (XTIS) fully isolating the mechanical elements of the first stage from the cold and hereby increasing freezing resistance by an average of 50 percent over the previous MK2 first stage.
A new spring insulating bushing and coating, insulating piston bushing, insulating sleeve and a new antifreeze cap contribute to the increase in freezing resistance.
Its body is 3.5mm smaller than its predecessor but houses an oversized piston by 1.6mm that provides better breathing performance by increasing airflow by 15 percent.
2nd stage: The R195 combines a classic downstream valve with a large diaphragm, functional purge button and VIVA switch for smooth and easy operation. It is a robust and reliable entry-level 2nd stage with reversible hose attachment.

The MK25 EVO/A700 combination is the best-breathing regulator in SCUBAPRO's line!
1st stage: Since its release in 2004 the MK25’s quickly made it to the very top of piston design regulators. It is very durable, reliable and delivers extra-high and effortless airflow, regardless of depth, tank pressure or breathing rate. Since 2016 the MK25 benefits from another substantial upgrade, SCUBAPRO's patented Extended Thermal Insulating System (XTIS), giving the reg its new name: MK25 EVO. The system let’s you enjoy all the advantages of an MK25 - regardless of how cold the water is! The XTIS makes this possible by fully isolating the mechanical elements of the first stage from the cold, increasing its freezing resistance 30 percent over the - already very freezing resistant - prior MK25 without compromising breathing performance. The key insulation system components are visible in blue.
New spring insulating coating, body insulating bushing, anti-freeze cap, bigger body and cap thread all work in concert with the XTIS to improve cold-water performance.
The MK25 EVO features a swivel turret with five high-flow LP ports (high flow ports deliver about 15 percent more air than conventional low pressure ports). It also has an external intermediate pressure adjustment that allows technicians to maintain peak performance without the need for disassembly.
2nd stage: the A700’s is an air-balanced regulator. Its casing is full metal to take advantage of the extremely high heat exchange rate which makes this second stage such a great choice for cold-water diving. In addition the metal case construction enables the use of a larger diaphragm inside a very compact casing for an ease of exhalation that is unmatched. The air-balanced system provides effortless breathing in any situation.

The MK25 EVO/A700 combination is the best-breathing regulator in SCUBAPRO's line. Both first and second stage have a BLACK TECH scratch- and corrosion-resistant coating that protects against the strains of technical diving and the ravages of salt water. This durable coating includes an inner layer of chemical Nickel (FDA approved) and an outer glossy DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) finish

The screw-down front cover, in place of metal, is hand-made out of carbon fiber - the same material you find on aircraft and high-speed race cars. Carbon fiber is extremely lightweight and, unlike metal that can change shape when dropped or struck against a hard object, carbon fiber can resist substantial shocks without damage.
An effortless breather... it's now just lighter and tougher.
